Apple ID Balance Too Low to Buy Anything? What to Do

Why a few cents can be difficult to spend

App Store apps and in-app purchases use defined products and regional pricing. You cannot ask a developer to deduct an arbitrary $0.01, $0.03 or $0.07 directly from your Apple Account. A charge you see in another country or currency may be priced differently in your storefront.

Apple’s official solution for balances below an item’s price

Apple’s region-change support page states that when your credit is below the cost of a single item in the App Store or other Apple services, contact Apple Support. You may need to describe your intention to change country and the remaining amount.

When an in-app purchase plan can help

If you have enough credit to buy a matching item, you can try eligible purchases. Should I add more money just to spend a few cents?

Adding credit or completing a purchase with another payment method can create extra charges and may not leave a zero balance. Compare the amount you might spend with the simpler Support option first. Any tax and payment-method treatment depends on the applicable storefront and purchase.
