Once an eligible gift card is redeemed, funds are added to your Apple Account balance. Apple says you generally must spend remaining account credit before changing countries or regions, or contact Support when the remaining amount is below the cost of one item.
Redeemed gift card versus unused gift card
An unredeemed Apple Gift Card still has a redemption code. After you redeem it, funds are added to your Apple Account balance, where eligible. For the official redemption procedure, see Apple’s gift card instructions.
Check the amount in your account
On iPhone, open App Store, tap your account photo and look for the balance below your name. This is the amount you can use for eligible Apple transactions—not an amount that a third-party app is allowed to withdraw. Apple explains how to check it.
Choose eligible purchases
Spend redeemed credit on eligible apps, in-app purchases or Apple services available to your account. Balance Reset offers optional Tree Packs with storefront prices, helping you evaluate small-purchase combinations instead of guessing.
If your gift card leaves a tiny unused amount
After any purchases, check your credit again. Exact zero is not assured: products have fixed price points, and taxes or other billing rules may apply. When the balance is too low to buy a single item, Apple recommends contacting Support.
Before changing countries
Keep in mind that gift cards, storefronts and eligible services differ by region. Clear subscriptions or pending transactions as Apple requires, then follow our region-change guide.
