Can’t Change App Store Country? Fix Balance and Other Blocks

Start with the remaining balance

Open App Store and tap your account photo to check for funds. If money remains, it usually needs to be spent before switching regions. If it is below the cost of one item, Apple directs you to contact Support. Read our balance clearing guide and Apple’s balance help.

Review subscriptions and pending purchases

Apple says some subscriptions must be canceled and allowed to finish before a country or region change. Wait for applicable memberships, preorders, rentals and outstanding refunds to complete. A balance that displays as zero does not necessarily mean every other restriction is gone.

Check Family Sharing

Membership in a Family Sharing group may prevent some country changes. Read Apple’s own steps before leaving, especially if you rely on shared purchases or services.

Payment method and country requirements

Apple may ask for a valid billing address and payment method associated with the new country. Changing the storefront is an account setting, not something Balance Reset can perform for you.

Change the region on iPhone

1. Open Settings and tap your name.
2. Go to Media & Purchases and account settings.
3. Select Country/Region and choose the new country.
4. Read and accept the terms, then complete any billing prompts.
